About the festival
The representative performing arts festival of Gyeongnam, the Tongyeong Theatre Arts Festival, will open on Friday, July 10. It will be held for 10 days under the theme of empathy and communication. While modern society has become materially affluent, we live isolated on our own stages. The scenes of sharing each other's emotions and thoughts are becoming increasingly faint, and the dialogue of relationships is also disappearing. This festival aims to create moments where various stories meet and resonate on one stage through the discovery of new plays and contemporary reinterpretation. On this stage, where the lives and memories of Tongyeong and Gyeongnam intersect with diverse narratives from around the world, the audience and art respond to each other's emotions, completing a living communication time.
