About the festival
The Gyeryong Military Culture Festival is a defense-themed complex cultural event held in the area of Gyeryong-si, where the Army, Navy, and Air Force headquarters are located. Since its first event in 2007, this year marks the 16th edition. From October 1 (Thursday) to October 5 (Monday), 2026, the festival will kick off with opening performances by top artists such as Sohyang and Forestella, followed by military band and ceremonial performances, as well as special performances by the Army performance team on the main stage, auxiliary stages, and throughout the runway area. Notably, the festival will feature the largest road parade in history and a large-scale city parade with over 700 participants, adding to the festival's dynamism. Various military culture content will also be available for visitors to participate in directly, including military equipment and shooting experiences, extreme guerrilla challenges, comprehensive barracks experiences, and VR/AR experiences. Additionally, a historical lecture by Professor Shin Byeong-joo and a 20m large LED special video hall showcasing video content, along with a children's theme park, will offer a diverse range of programs that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, presenting a differentiated defense culture festival unique to Gyeryong.
