About the festival
From March 16, for one week, the Dongnam Tourist Area will host the 'Clipper Race Port Week' event. The 'Clipper Round the World Yacht Race' is a global competition where yachts circumnavigate the globe, and this is the first time a domestic city, Tongyeong, has been selected as a port of call. It is also the first instance of a world-class yacht competition visiting South Korea. During this Port Week, a variety of programs will be offered to provide visitors with special experiences, including a grand departure ceremony, a maritime parade, yacht tours, RC yacht experiences, and live talk shows. Notably, from March 20 (Friday) to 22 (Sunday), the 'Port Table' session will feature a food collaboration by Chef Kang Leo, a representative chef of South Korea, showcasing fresh seafood from Tongyeong, along with food booths offering flavors from around the world. Additionally, a special outdoor stage will host fringe performances and a world cultural festival performance to enhance the festive atmosphere. Furthermore, on March 21 (Saturday), there will be emotional cultural programs prepared, including the 2026 South Korea Cultural City Music Wave planned performance by The Jazz Ambassadors Orchestra with Malo, an 'International Maritime Film Festival Short Screening', and a fireworks show celebrating the Clipper Race, making it a festive occasion for athletes, tourists, and local citizens visiting Tongyeong.
