About the festival
This is a live historical musical set against the backdrop of the Namgang River and Uiam, the historical site of the Battle of Jinju Castle during the Imjin War. It reconstructs the noble sacrifices and loyalty of the Jinju citizens who fought against the Japanese army with modern music and dynamic choreography. Utilizing a special stage installed on the Namgang River, it maximizes the realism of the performance and combines the beautiful night view of Chokseokru with stunning lighting technology to provide an overwhelming visual experience. It transforms the region's historical resources into cultural content, conveying the value of the Jinju spirit and contributing to the revitalization of nighttime tourism. Professional actors and local citizens participate together to create a space of harmony, and through advanced effects and fireworks, they deliver a profound emotional experience to the audience. The solid narrative based on historical verification and the grand numbers help everyone, regardless of age or gender, to easily understand and immerse themselves. This performance is held annually in May during the Jinju Nongae Festival, firmly establishing its status as a high-quality cultural and artistic content representing Jinju.
