About the festival
“Peace Comes to Gyeongju: Dam” is a second-half 2026 peace and unification cultural event hosted by the Ministry of Unification. Set in Gyeongju, a historic city of culture and the arts, it brings together local residents, artists, and visitors to experience the meaning of peace and unification in everyday life. Against the backdrop of the lawn plaza beside Cheomseongdae Observatory, participants can enjoy a variety of activities connected to Gyeongju’s history and culture, share stories with family and neighbors, and take time to reflect anew on peace and unification. The event features hands-on craft activities, performances, and on-site events for all ages. Through small experiences of laughing, creating, and sharing together, this warm festival will invite visitors to feel peace today and envision peace tomorrow in Gyeongju, where a thousand years of history live and breathe.
