About the festival
The 2026 Reading-Based Regional Activation Project, which is being promoted as [Flower Watching + Water Watching, Chaekja-ri], will be operated at representative attractions in the ancient capital of Gongju. In April, it will be held at the Chungnam History Museum, where cherry blossoms are in full bloom, and in May, it will take place at the Jeminchon area, selected as part of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's '2nd Local 100 (100 Selected Local Cultural Attractions)'. An outdoor library for relaxation and healing will be created, featuring a book talk by author Jeongmun, poetry recitation by the Gongju Poetry Reciters Association, and various cultural programs such as night performances by the Gongju Cultural Tourism Foundation. Additionally, there will be fairy tale performances, experience booths, an exhibition of historical photos of the event venue using the Gongju Studies Institute archive, and a book curation exhibition, providing a variety of content.
