About the festival
The year 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the June 10 Manse Movement. To commemorate this centenary, we will hold the 'June 10 Manse Movement 100th Anniversary Independence Fair,' which reinterprets the significance of the independence movement in today's daily life. This independence fair will be held at the Andonggukje Convention Center and will consist of a complex event that includes exhibitions, experiences, lectures, talks, education, and culture. In the 'Exhibition Zone,' the site of the June 10 Manse Movement will be recreated, allowing for indirect learning of historical knowledge, while in the 'Experience Zone,' various memorial institutions will provide participatory content to help future generations learn about the June 10 Manse Movement in a natural way. Inside, there will be a variety of programs, including informative lectures and talk shows aimed at youth, while outdoor activities will create a vibrant and enjoyable festival, considering performances and relaxation. The future-oriented 'Veteran Culture' will be conducted in today's language and manner, based on the belief that it should be accessible and enjoyable for everyone. The independence movement is not just a line of history in textbooks; it is our story of ordinary people acting together to create a better tomorrow. This special time allows us to revisit the echoes of the cheers that resonated in the streets 100 years ago, reimagined in today's space, and reflect together on the values and meanings of independence that we must remember.
