About the festival
The 2026 Maker Play, hosted by the National Science Museum, is an interactive festival where visitors learn scientific principles and develop creativity and imagination through hands-on making and activities. With around 50 experience booths covering a wide range of fields, including creative crafts, robotics, coding, and AI, the event offers an easy and fun way to experience maker culture. Visitors can also take part in a marionette performance using puppets they have made themselves and enjoy Mandeulle Racing, building cars and sailboats from various materials and racing them. A hands-on area for families to build go-karts together and try swing cars is also available, making this a science and culture festival where the whole family can share the joy of science and creativity.
