About the festival
The Geumsan World Ginseng Festival, held in Geumsan, the home of ginseng with a history of over 1,500 years, offers a variety of experiences and attractions enjoyed by all ages, including ginseng digging experiences, red ginseng pack massages, red ginseng foot baths, an international ginseng trade fair, and traditional ginseng cultural experiences, enhancing tourist satisfaction with budget-friendly shopping. At various locations within the event venue, visitors can taste healthy foods made with ginseng and medicinal herbs. Since its inception in 1981, the Geumsan World Ginseng Festival has been designated as one of the top 10 festivals in the country by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and has earned recognition as a representative industrial festival of Korea, including being selected as an Asian specialty festival by the IFEA World in 2024, continuously building its reputation as a global festival enjoyed by people from around the world.
