About the festival
*The content of the festival is based on the previous year's (2025) festival, and the content for the 2026 festival is currently being updated.* In the 'City of Fire and Light', Pohang, the representative cultural tourism festival 'Pohang International Fire and Light Festival' is held every year. The Pohang International Fire and Light Festival began in 2004 to commemorate Pohang Citizens' Day, featuring a fireworks show themed around 'light', symbolizing the world-renowned steel city of Pohang, and 'fire', representing the hot blast furnace. Since then, it has expanded into an international-scale festival with famous fireworks teams from abroad participating every year. The festival content has evolved beyond simple 'fireworks' to include diverse elements of industry and culture, such as production performances and light parades, creating a festival of harmony.
