About the festival
The Baekje Cultural Festival, which started from the first Baekje Great Festival held in 1955 in Buyeo-gun, is a representative historical and cultural festival of South Korea that celebrates its 72nd anniversary this year. It widely promotes the splendid culture and long history of Baekje, modernly inheriting the spirit and cultural heritage of our ancestors, and enhances the region's identity and pride.·This festival has been developed to elevate the local identity and pride. The 72nd Baekje Cultural Festival will be held for 9 days from October 3 (Saturday) to October 11 (Sunday), 2026, in the Buyeo city area under the theme 'Beautiful Baekje, Shining Sabi.' Centered around Jeongnimsa Site and Seoktap-ro, Gwanbuk-ri Ruins, and others, a ritual ceremony·Showcasing over 40 programs in 7 categories including Buddhist ceremonies, historical cultural parades, performances, exhibitions, experiences, and night scenery. In particular, this year's festival will be held in the city of Buyeo, operating as an open festival that harmonizes Baekje's historical culture, local commerce, and residents' daily lives, providing visitors with a unique cultural experience where the past and present coexist. [Gongju Baekje Cultural Festival] "The Baekje Cultural Festival modernly inherits the brilliant history and cultural heritage of the Wungjin Baekje."·This is a representative historical and cultural festival of Korea that has developed the region's identity and pride. The 72nd Baekje Cultural Festival will be held for 9 days from October 3 (Saturday) to October 11 (Sunday), 2026, under the theme 'Bronze Mirror, Reflecting the Light of 1,500 Years of Baekje' at Geumgangsingwan Park, Mireu Island, Gong-sanseong, and the Wando area. Using the bronze mirror, an artifact excavated from the Muryeong Royal Tomb, as the core motif, it highlights the light and historical value of Baekje through diverse programs. The representative program, an immersive fusion performance 'Ungjin Fantasia', and a new Gong-sanseong night performance 'The Night the Queen Crossed' set against the backdrop of the World Heritage Gong-sanseong will offer differentiated attractions.·In addition, there will be experiential events that all generations can enjoy, such as the 'Ungjin Fortress Parade', the 'Ungjin Baekje Lantern Festival' that decorates the night scenery, 'Ungjin Baekje Starlight Garden', and 'Gong-sanseong Media Art', showcasing the unique character of Ungjin Baekje through night and stay-type content. Moreover, various programs linked to the local economy and commercial districts, such as Baekje Village Goma Village, Bronze Mirror Mission Tour, Let's Play Baekje, along with 'Taste and Style of Baekje', 'Welcome to Singwan-dong', and the 22nd Jeongukusu Market Expo, will provide visitors with a special cultural experience where the past and present blend together.
