About the festival
[Buyeo Baekje Cultural Festival] The Baekje Cultural Festival, which started from the first Baekje Great Festival held in Buyeo-gun in 1955, is a representative historical and cultural festival of South Korea that celebrates its 72nd year this year. This festival widely promotes the brilliant culture and long history of Baekje, modernly inherits and develops the spirit and cultural heritage of our ancestors, and enhances the region's identity and pride. The 72nd Baekje Cultural Festival will be held from October 3 (Saturday) to October 11 (Sunday), 2026, for nine days under the theme 'Beautiful Baekje, Shining Sabi' in the Buyeo city area. It will showcase over 40 programs in seven fields, including rituals, Buddhist ceremonies, historical cultural parades, performances, exhibitions, experiences, and night scenery, centered around Jeongnimsa Site, Seoktap-ro, and Gwanbuk-ri ruins. In particular, this year's festival will be held in the Buyeo city area, operating as an open festival where the historical culture of Baekje, local commerce, and the daily lives of residents come together, providing visitors with a unique cultural experience where the past and present coexist. [Gongju Baekje Cultural Festival] The Baekje Cultural Festival is a representative historical and cultural festival of South Korea that modernly inherits and develops the brilliant history and cultural heritage of the Ungjin Baekje, enhancing the region's identity and pride. The 72nd Baekje Cultural Festival will be held from October 3 (Saturday) to October 11 (Sunday), 2026, for nine days under the theme 'Bronze Mirror, Reflecting the Light of 1,500 Years of Baekje' at Geumgangsingwan Park, Mireu Island, Gong-sanseong, and the royal capital area. The bronze mirror, an artifact excavated from the Muryeong Royal Tomb, serves as the core motif to highlight the light and historical value of Baekje through diverse programs. It will offer differentiated attractions through the representative program 'Ungjin Fantasia,' an immersive fusion performance, and the new Gong-sanseong night performance '接(jeop)·Gyeong: The Night the Queen Crossed' set against the backdrop of the World Heritage Gong-sanseong. Additionally, there will be night and stay-type content that embodies the uniqueness of Ungjin Baekje, such as the 'Ungjin Fortress Parade' where citizens participate directly, the 'Ungjin Baekje Lantern Festival' that decorates the night scenery, 'Ungjin Baekje Starlight Garden,' and 'Gong-sanseong Media Art.' Furthermore, various experiential events that all generations can enjoy, such as the Baekje Village Goma Village, Bronze Mirror Mission Tour, and Let's Play Baekje, along with diverse programs linked to the local economy and commerce, such as 'Taste Baekje, Style Baekje,' 'Welcome to Singwan-dong,' and the 22nd Jeongukusu Market Expo, will provide visitors with a special cultural experience where the past and present harmonize.
