How to dispose of it
- Empty the drink or food and rinse residue from inside the can.
- Separate lids or packaging made from other materials and avoid pressing sharp cut edges with your hands.
- Place clean steel or aluminium cans in the designated can collection.
Before you put it out
- Do not use a can to hold cigarette ends, film or other waste. Remaining contents can contaminate other recyclables.
- This guide covers food and drink cans. Pressurised gas or insecticide containers require separate instructions for their contents and safe handling.
