About the festival

The Bonghwa Eel Festival is a summer water play festival held with the natural environment as its backdrop, designating eel as the main theme. This festival features hands-on experiences such as catching eels with nets and bare hands as core content, allowing visitors to directly experience the ecology of eels. During the festival period, in addition to these eel-catching experience programs, various performances are held, along with food experiences using eel as an ingredient and refreshing water play programs. Furthermore, to respond to climate change phenomena, various infrastructure and convenience facilities, including showers, shaded areas, and rest spaces, are established and provided at the festival site. This festival is an experiential festival operated based on ecological resources, encouraging participation.
