The Busan Lantern Festival is a traditional cultural festival that inherits and develops the national intangible heritage of the Lantern Festival in the Busan area. The Lantern Festival, which has a history of about 1,200 years, is our unique culture that celebrates the Buddha's birthday by lighting lanterns, wishing for each other's happiness and peace, and promoting community harmony and prosperity. In particular, the Lantern Festival is recognized as a global cultural heritage registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, widely acknowledged for its tradition and value. The Busan Lantern Festival aims to enjoy, inherit, and develop traditional culture together with citizens through various programs such as the Celebration Union Conference, Lantern Parade, and traditional lantern exhibition.
