About the festival
Starting with the first Chungnyeol Festival in 1995, the Dongrae-eupseong Historical Festival has been a historical education experience festival representing Dongrae-gu in Busangwangyeok-si for 32 years. The 32nd Dongrae-eupseong Historical Festival, which has leapfrogged to become a representative cultural tourism festival of South Korea '2026-2027', invites visitors into the vivid emotions of 1592. The festival announces its splendid start with the grand parade 'Dongrae Busasaengcha Gilmori', in which hundreds of participants take part, and particularly, the 'Dongrae Fortress Battle Reenactment Live Musical' held at the historical site of the Imjin War will maximize the overwhelming emotions of the fierce battle through sophisticated performances combined with media art. Additionally, a 'Dongrae Segadak Juldarigi' where everyone comes together to pull a giant rope will create a space for harmony, and trendy experiential content such as outdoor escape rooms and Byeolmi-Hall character snack experiences can also be enjoyed in various ways. In the 'Dongraejangteo', where visitors can jump into the Joseon-era Jeojatgeo-ri with a coin, they can fully taste a day in the life of the fortress residents. The Dongrae-eupseong Historical Festival, where history and the future coexist, is composed of rich and substantial programs, promising the most special memories this fall.
