About the festival

The 'Busan Fireworks Festival' is a representative maritime multimedia fireworks festival of South Korea held at Gwanganri Beach and the Gwangan Bridge area. It started in 2005 as a celebratory fireworks show for the APEC Summit and is now in its 21st year, making it a prominent autumn cultural event in Busan. The festival showcases a large-scale maritime multimedia show that combines music and fireworks, utilizing special lighting on the Gwangan Bridge and a large production system. Through unique production techniques that leverage the geographical characteristics of the night sea at Gwanganri and large-scale fireworks displays, it has established itself as a global festival attracting numerous domestic and international visitors each year. This year's 21st event is expected to adorn Busan's night sky with more sophisticated storytelling and maritime fireworks displays.
