About the festival
In May, when the chamoe flowers bloom, the "Seongju Chamoe & Life Culture Festival" will be held in Seongju, Gyeongbuk from May 14 (Thursday) to May 17 (Sunday), featuring the royal tomb of King Sejong the Great. The first day will start with a reenactment parade of the royal tomb, community harmony programs, an opening ceremony (thematic performances, congratulatory performances), a chamoe song contest, a light and love concert, and a variety of events including a star-mountain tug-of-war. Additionally, there will be a Seed Island for families with children, a rich chamoe tasting experience, recreation and game experience programs at the Chamoe Lounge, and special features such as a life walking path and life theme hall set against the beautiful backdrop of the Seongju outside forest with its majestic willow trees, and a chamoe healing park.
