About the festival
The 4th Chilgok Transmedia Festival is a cultural and artistic festival held in the Waegwan-eup area of Chilgok-gun, designed to combine local spaces and cultural resources with various media content for a new way of experiencing them. This year, it showcases the friendship between poet Gu Sang and painter Lee Jung-seop, expanding the lives and artistic worlds of the two artists through literature, art, media, performance, and other content. In particular, it operates as a mobile festival format, allowing visitors to move through everyday spaces in Waegwan-eup rather than concentrating content in a single venue. Festival participants will sequentially encounter exhibitions, media content, experiential programs, and performances while moving along a designated route and space, with the characteristics of each space and content connected to form a unified festival experience. Through this, it aims to transform ordinary local spaces into places for experiencing culture and art, and to reinterpret the region's cultural resources and stories into new content. Additionally, it seeks to promote the values of literature and art through the relationship and works of Gu Sang and Lee Jung-seop, providing opportunities for local residents and visitors to walk through the spaces of Waegwan and experience culture and art directly.
