About the festival
*The food content for the festival is based on the previous year (2025) festival details, and the food content for the 2026 festival is currently being updated.* Ginseng is a representative health food of Korea that helps with energy recovery and boosts immunity. The Punggi Ginseng Festival is vibrantly held in Yeongju, one of Korea's top ginseng-producing areas, in October, which is the peak season for ginseng's nutritional value. True to the festival's theme of ginseng, a symbol of health, it features health-related exhibitions and experiences that everyone can enjoy, regardless of age. Special programs include the Gae Samteo Ritual, the reenactment of the Jusebung County Governor's procession, and the Great Ginseng Festival. Visitors can taste ginseng dishes made from nutrient-rich Punggi ginseng and participate in fun experiences related to Punggi ginseng, such as ginseng peeling. Additionally, locally harvested fresh ginseng, red ginseng, and processed ginseng products can be purchased at affordable prices from local ginseng farmers.
