About the festival

The largest sand festival in the country, held annually in May and June, showcases the beauty of Haeundae, a representative beach of South Korea, and raises awareness of the preciousness of marine resources like sand. World-class sand sculpture works and diverse experience programs and performances unfold each year with a new theme. In 2026, the theme will be 'Busan', highlighting the dynamic changes of the city from the past to the present and future, showcasing its captivating charm. The festival runs from May 15 to May 18, and the sand sculptures can be viewed until June 14.
