About the festival
*The content of the festival is based on the previous year's (2025) festival, and the details for the 2026 festival are currently being updated.* Celebrating the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage designation of Korea's traditional soybean paste-making culture and the 20th anniversary of the Jangyu Festival, this festival aims to establish the identity of the traditional soybean paste region and promote the excellence of K-food to the world. Over 50 diverse programs in 8 categories, including experiential programs, cultural performances, exhibitions, and sales, will be held, featuring delicious spicy dishes made with Sunchang gochujang. Notably, there will be unique experiential programs exclusive to the Sunchang Jangyu Festival, such as the 'Sunchang Gochujang Royal Offering Parade' performance and activities like 'Fermentation Country 1997', 'Soybeans, Boil and Mash, Let's Make Meju'. This year, in celebration of the 20th anniversary, various programs such as 'Find the Golden Meju' and 'You and I Coming of Age' discount events for soybean paste products will also take place.
